6/14/13 - Community-minded residents are being asked to apply for a vacancy on the Fenton City Council. The Fenton City Council is accepting letters of interest to fill the vacant seat, after Councilman Mike Piacentini passed away unexpectedly last month. Whoever is appointed would fill out the remainder of his term, which expires on November 10th of this year. Applicants must be over 18-years-old, a registered voter and have lived in the City for more than one year. Applicants must also not be in default to the City. Officials say theyâre looking for individuals who have an open mind and a love of the community, but also consider all sides of an issue before making a decision. A committee is expected to be formed to review potential candidates. Letters of interest should be submitted to the Fenton City Clerk no later than 5pm on Friday, June 14th at 301 S.
