7/26/13 - A Brighton man police believe was drunk and driving at the time of a crash that sent a woman to the hospital has been released from jail pending the receipt of lab tests. Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte tells WHMI 23-year-old Craig Michael McNutt was lodged in the Livingston County Jail after the Wednesday night incident but then released Thursday pending the results of lab tests, which will determine if he was under the influence of anything at the time. The crash happened near Lake Chemung in Genoa Township at around 10:45pm. The Sheriffâs Department says McNutt was attempting to turn left out of a car dealership on Grand River when his vehicle collided with an eastbound Saturn driven by a 60-year-old Howell woman, causing it to roll over. The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of what were described as non-life threatening injuries. The crash prompted a short closure of Grand River for investigation and police from multiple agencies assisted at the scene. (JM)
