11/7/12 - A Wixom man arrested in a four-county shooting spree has been formally charged in Livingston County. 43-year-old Raulie Wayne Casteel is being held on a $2 (m) million bond after being arraigned today in 53rd District Court in Howell on a variety of charges. They include felonious assault, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and three counts of felony firearms. The firearm was identified as a pistol. The charges were detailed by Livingston County Prosecutor David Morse at a press conference and he emphasized that more charges against Casteel are likely elsewhere. Casteel was specifically charged in connection with an alleged incident that occurred on Thursday, October 18th in Howell Township at approximately 2:43pm on westbound I-96 near the 135 mile marker. Casteel was arrested on Monday at his Wixom home and a multi-jurisdictional task force says heâs suspected in the shootings that began the week of October 16th but then stopped up until two possibly related incidents on I-96 near the Fowlerville exit October 27th. Casteel will appear next for a court hearing on November 14th before Judge Carol Sue Reader. (JM)
