9/11/13 - It was a very bad and very wet morning commute for a Howell man whose SUV ended up in Woodland Lake this morning. State Police at the Brighton Post say they were dispatched to Hilton Road and Oak Knoll Drive just after 6:30 this morning. Upon arrival they found a 2007 Jeep Compass submerged in Woodland Lake. The driver, a Howell man, told the trooper he had spilled his coffee and lost control of the vehicle, which then went into the water just a few feet away from the roadway. Authorities say fortunately the man was not injured and it appears alcohol and drugs were not involved. However, the effort to remove the SUV from the lake blocked traffic for about two hours. The incident remains under investigation. (JK)
