11/21/13 - As we head into the holiday season, a new report has good tidings for those in need of a job. Online job postings in Livingston County nearly doubled in the third quarter of the year when compared to 2013âs second quarter. Thatâs according to a report released Monday by the Workforce Intelligence Network. Online employment postings in Livingston County rose from 1,200 in the April-June quarter to 2,303 in the July-September quarter. That trend mirrors a similar jump across Metro Detroit. The network, which is a collaborative effort between eight community colleges and seven Michigan Works Agencies, tracks online job postings in nine counties across Southeast Michigan. The countyâs retail sector accounted for more than a third of those listings, with health care next up at over 11%. (JK)
