12/4/13 - To commemorate his years of service, the Marion Township Board dedicated the park near the township hall in honor of one of its major supporters. John âJackâ Lowe worked on the Township Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals for years before passing away on May 5th at age 63. However, Trustee Jim Murray says Lowe was also a major force behind the inception and completion of the park near the township hall, spending years designing and working on its various features. At a recent meeting, the Marion Township Board dedicated the area as the Jack Lowe Memorial Park. The township plans to erect a large rock on the site with an engraving or plaque in his honor, along with a sign identifying the area as the Jack Lowe Memorial Park. Lowe was part of Howell High School's 1967 class as well as a Michigan National Guardsman. He was buried with veteran's honors. (TD)
