12/5/13 - The effort by the Howell High School and Hartland High School hockey teams to raise money to support the fight against cancer received an unexpected boost. While attending the Hockey Fights Cancer game last week, Howell High School freshman Will Manson purchased several 50/50 raffle tickets to help support the cause. When the winning numbers were announced and Manson realized he had won, he showed his giving spirit by donating his winnings of $180 back to the cause in honor of his mother Mary, who is a cancer survivor. To show their appreciation, the Howell hockey team presented Manson with a Howell hockey sweatshirt. While the two teams are still tallying the final total, they hope to present the donation to the St. Joseph Brighton Cancer Center towards the end of next week.
