12/15/13 - Two criminal sexual conduct cases currently open against a Novi man are on hold while prosecutors try to get the right to show both juries evidence from both trials. 29-year-old Freade Petrus is facing criminal sexual conduct charges in two different cases currently being held in Livingston County Circuit Court. The first includes three counts of 3rd degree CSC from an alleged incident in February. The second includes four more counts of CSC, two in the 2nd degree and two in the 4th degree, as well as a count of impersonating a police officer. He is being held on a $100,000 personal recognizance bond. Judge Michael Hatty has granted motions by the defense in both cases to have evidence from other prior acts, including the charges from the other case, excluded from the trials. On December 6th, the proceedings in both cases were put on hold while that order is appealed by prosecutors. Petrus is still scheduled for a final settlement conference on December 20th. (TD)
