12/16/13 - A Howell man has entered a plea to charges after being chased down by police and a real estate agent for breaking into an empty house in Hartland Township. 44-year-old Thomas Isaac pleaded guilty to a charge of 2nd degree home invasion as well as a reduced habitual offender status in Livingston County Circuit Court. Prosecutors are recommending a 36-month cap on his minimum prison sentence. Isaac was discovered at an unoccupied residence on Oak Hill Road on September 19th by a real estate employee who was inspecting the home and found damage to the plumbing, but then witnessed Isaac running out the front door. The employee called 911 before chasing Issac into a swamp area, where police say he was attempting to hide. Isaac was eventually taken into custody by two responding state police troopers. Heâll be sentenced January 30th. (JK)
