1/7/14 - Due to the significant amount of snow accumulation in the City of Brighton, Main Street will be closed from North First Street to Grand River beginning at 10pm so that snow can be removed and hauled from the downtown area. That work will be done overnight until 6am and motorists should seek alternate routes. In the City of Howell, Mayor Phil Campbell says snow hauling out of the downtown area has been postponed until tomorrow night because contractors have been having a hard time getting equipment started and keeping it running due to the extreme cold. Meanwhile, Wednesday marks another snow day for students across Livingston County. All five public school districts and a number of others will be closed again due to the continuing extreme cold and road conditions in some areas, especially more rural communities where back roads pose a safety hazard for buses.
