11/15/12 - A Hartland Township teen is undergoing evaluation after threatening his 11-year-old brother, babysitter and a neighbor with a butcher knife Tuesday evening. Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte says at around 5:30pm, they received a call from a man who lived in the Bergin Road area, east of Hacker Road about a teen who was on his porch and had been threatening him with a knife. He says a 14-year-old apparently got into an argument with his babysitter, left the house with some butcher knives and was threatening to kill anyone he came into contact with. He says the teen got into a neighborâs home, who had his 3-year-old granddaughter inside, but the man was able to force the teen out onto the back porch and called 911. He says deputies and Michigan State Police ended up tasing the teen and taking him into custody after negotiating with him for a while to try and put the knives down. No one was injured but Bezotte says it was pretty tense and they are still trying to determine what happened as this was said to be out of character for the teen. He was subsequently transported to St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital for evaluation. (JM)
