1/29/14 - A rally Thursday evening will help educate community members about how to get involved in an event that raises funds for a very cold reality â local heating emergencies. The Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency or OLHSA is hosting its 24th annual Walk for Warmth on February 22nd in Hartland. An annual kick-off rally Thursday evening is planned to help community members learn more about how to get involved and form a team. A goal of $80,000 has been set for the local walk and all of the funds raised not only stay in the community but are leveraged with state and federal money to directly assist those in need. Various teams and event organizers will be at Thursdayâs rally, where Walk for Warmth materials and tips for fundraising will also be provided. It starts at 6pm in the lower theater level of the Brighton Remax Platinum offices at 6870 Grand River. Additional information about the event can also be found through the link below. (JM)
