3/21/14 - State Senator Joe Hune has announced his candidacy for re-election to the Michigan Senate. The Hamburg Township Republican was elected to the State Senate in 2010 after serving three terms in the state House. Hune characterized his first term in the Senate as âfighting for limited government and responsible spending.â Hune says he has fought for the interests of his constituents with much more work to be done, adding that he plans to finish what he started by focusing on removing unnecessary regulations and encouraging job growth. The 22nd Senate District was redrawn following the 2010 Census and encompasses all of Livingston County and western Washtenaw County, including the Villages of Dexter and Manchester, and the City of Chelsea. Brighton attorney Shari Pollesch has already announced her candidacy to seek the Democratic nomination for the seat. (JK)
