4/1/14 - With spring here and warmer weather finally starting to arrive, orange barrels are never far behind. The Michigan Department of Transportation is getting ready for another busy construction season but the good news is that the bulk of work in Livingston County wonât occur until later in the summer. Spokeswoman Kari Arend tells WHMI the construction planned at the I-96/US-23 interchange will be the biggest project in Livingston County this season. She says while there might be some preliminary work, thereâs nothing that will really impact traffic in that area until later in the summer and early fall. As they do start up another construction season, Arend says thereâs a lot of information for motorists on the M-DOT and MI Drive websites so they can take note of any work before heading out and see when and where those orange barrels might be.
