4/14/14 - Firefighters battled a barn fire in Highland Township Sunday afternoon. The fire was reported on Twin Oaks Lane at around 12:15pm. Upon arrival, Highland Township firefighters and deputies with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office found the structure fully engulfed. The fire department requested an investigator to respond but due to amount of damage, the cause of the fire was not immediately determined. Heat lamps were said to have been used throughout the barn and may have contributed to fire but the investigation continues. No injuries were reported. (JM)
