4/28/14 - The South Lyon City Council on Saturday unanimously selected their choice to be the next city manager. Lynne Ladner was among five candidates who were interviewed by council members, but was called back to city hall shortly after her session and offered the position pending a contract agreement and a successful background check. The city administrator from Hiawatha, Kansas would be South Lyonâs first female city manager. Ladner will replace David Murphy, who was fired by a split council vote last year. The position has been handled since then on an interim basis by former City Manager Rod Cook, who was assisted by South Lyon Police Chief Lloyd Collins. Ladner, who has a Master in Public Administration from Grand Valley State University, is expected to begin in her new position on June 1st. (JK)
