6/14/14 - A Howell man will face trial after his case moved to Circuit court in Livonia after being charged with larceny last week. Jeffrey John Bentley was arrested after a hidden camera showed him taking money out of a donation box at St. Edithâs Catholic Church. Church officials notified Livonia Police and said they thought money was being taken out of donation boxes, so a hidden camera was then put in place which caught Bentley in the act. He is also suspected in several other church robberies in the area. The 55-year-old Bentley is charged with larceny in a building and as a habitual offender, which is a 15 year felony. His criminal record includes previous convictions in Livingston County for larceny and criminal sexual conduct. Bentley will be arraigned next week in Wayne County Circuit Court. (JK)
