6/27/14 - A longtime legislator has offered an endorsement to the man heâs like to see succeed him. Genoa Township Republican State Representative Bill Rogers today formally endorsed former newspaper editor Rich Perlberg for the GOP nomination in the 42nd state House race. Rogers, who cannot seek re-election because of term limits, said Perlberg has a âstrong knowledge of issues and a proven commitment to Livingston County.â Perlberg is among four Republicans running in the August 5th primary for the 42nd District, which includes the City of Brighton along with Brighton, Genoa, Green Oak, Hamburg and Putnam townships and the Village of Pinckney. The other contenders for the GOP nomination are Brighton School Board President Nick Fiani, Brighton Township Treasurer Lana Theis and Dale Rogers, a high school teacher from Hamburg Township.
