7/29/14 - The Village of Dexter has appointed an interim village manager following Donna Dettlingâs resignation earlier this month. After 14 years as the village manager, Dettling was offered a job as the village administrator for North Baltimore, Ohio, about 40 miles south of Toledo, on July 8th. She issued her resignation the following day. At its regular meeting last night, the village council unanimously appointed Assistant Village Manager Courtney Nicholls as the interim manager until someone can be found to fill the position permanently. Nicholls is the favorite to fill that position, having served the village for the past seven years, but the Dexter Leader reports council members want to advertise the position so a process for filling future vacancies can be established. Nicholls will serve as the interim manager on a month-by-month basis until a permanent manager is appointed. (TD)
