8/10/14 - A recent Howell High School graduate took fourth place in a national medical spelling competition. Jessica Greene took fourth place in the Medical Spelling competition at the annual Health Occupation Students of America National Leadership Conference. It was held in Orlando, Florida and members from around the country competed in various competitions related to health occupations. Additionally, students attended workshops and informational sessions about current health care topics.
Greene, a 2014 Howell High School graduate, advanced to the national competition after claiming first place in medical spelling at the state level competition. Howell Health Occupations Teacher Cathy Highfield called it a real accomplishment. She says HOSA has more than 165,000 members nationally so to have one of their students reach the national competition really speaks to Jessicaâs dedication and the quality of Howellâs program. (JM)
