8/11/14 - Fenton residents who are concerned or just curious about crime in their neighborhoods can now look to a new online service. The Fenton Police Department is now live on the site CrimeMapping.com. Residents who visit the site can view where crimes have happened in their neighborhoods as well as what sort of incidents took place. The city is one of 43 municipalities taking part in the program, including Detroit, Flint, and Ann Arbor, according to the Tri County Times. The website is free to use and does not cost the department anything. Fenton Police say the website will keep residents better informed, and Chief Rick Aro says access to the information should help reduce the number of crimes overall. (TD)
