9/12/14 - With almost 20 years under her belt, LuAnn Pless is retiring as Howell City Council Deputy Treasurer. Pless was awarded a plaque and received a Mayorâs Proclamation from Howell Mayor Phil Campbell at Monday nightâs city council meeting. She was emotional as she thanked attendees and fellow employees, who agreed it was well deserved from her years of hard work. Pless tells WHMI she advanced her career through pursuing her passion, having started with the city in November of 1994 as an accounts clerk. She was eventually named Deputy Treasurer after attending the Michigan Municipal Treasurerâs Institute. But Pless wonât be heading off to vacation on a beach anytime soon, as she also serves as the Oceola Township Treasurer. Pless says her favorite part is working with the community she loves. (DK/JK)
