9/18/14 - The Milford Village Council is moving forward with adopting a new ordinance that regulates parking at electric vehicle charging stations. Council met Monday and unanimously introduced an ordinance that makes it illegal for non-electric vehicles to park in spaces that have been designated a public electric vehicle charging station. The ordinance will further require that electric vehicles be plugged in and charging if they are parked in the stations. Violators face a $40 fine but informational warning cards will be used to educate the community before citations are issued. As with other parking fines in Milford, fees are reduced if paid within ten days. The ordinance is expected to be adopted at the next Village Council meeting.
