2/1/13 - An open house and dedication of the new Michigan State Police Brighton Post is planned next week. Construction of the new building began last May and was recently completed in December. The new post is located on Buno Road, next to the Brighton Township hall. In October of 2011, the Brighton and Ypsilanti Posts merged, and the Brighton location now serves both Livingston and Washtenaw Counties. A dedication ceremony will be led by MSP Director Kristie Kibbey Etue and Brighton Township Supervisor Tom Murphy while the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce will perform the ribbon cutting ceremony at the completion of the presentation. The general public is encouraged to attend the open house and tour the new facility after the dedication from 11am to 2pm on Thursday, February 7th. (JM)
