2/5/13 - Livingston County residents are being encouraged to take advantage of the snowy weather by racing or even coasting down the hills in Kensington Metroparkâs winter sports area. Huron-Clinton Metroparks spokeswoman Denise Semion tells WHMI the sledding hills opened up for use on Monday afternoon and there are a variety of hills ranging from beginner to advanced. A shorter âbunny hillâ is designated for younger sledders who are 36" or less in height and features padded trees for added safety. The toboggan runs, sledding, and beginner snowboarding hills are located at the Orchard picnic area, which offers a nearby shelter with picnic tables and grills. All park facility and hill conditions are subject to change. Information can be found via the link below or contacting the park office at 810-227-8910 for the latest conditions. Meanwhile, other individuals were out taking advantage of the snowy conditions by utilizing the sledding hill located at the Genoa Township hall until late into the evening Monday, which is lit area for public use.
