2/5/13 - The efforts of hundreds of bike-riders from an event last year have been transformed into resources to assist the community. A check presentation was held yesterday by the Howell Rotary Club to support health and human service needs in Livingston County. Howell Rotary host the annual âTour De Livingstonâ, which brought out 450 riders last October on routes ranging from five to 100 miles. All proceeds from the event were pledged to benefit local basic need programs through the Livingston County United Way. At yesterdayâs weekly Howell Rotary meeting, a check for $23,600 was presented to United Way Executive Director Nancy Rosso. The money will be used to assist the various United Way basic need programs that impact hunger, homelessness, children, and unemployment.
