10/19/12 - Local authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for shooting off a weapon yesterday, causing projectile fire to strike a vehicle on the freeway in the Howell area. At approximately 2:40pm Thursday, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department says a vehicle traveling westbound on I-96 between D-19 and M-59 was struck in the rear driver’s side door by projectile fire from a firearm that came from an unknown location. The vehicle was being driven by a 24-year-old Genesee County resident who was the only occupant and was not injured. The make and model of the weapon involved is unknown but authorities say the path of the projectile was from the south side of westbound I-96.
