2/15/13 - An abandoned property that’s become an eyesore over the years has been purchased by a Fenton company looking to expand operations in the City. The Fenton Cinema is located on Alloy Drive across the street from Creative Foam's corporate headquarters in the City’s industrial park area. The theater closed in December 2008 and has sat vacant since then. Company officials made the announcement this week, saying the abandoned theater and associated property provides a great opportunity to expand operations in Fenton and possibly bring more jobs when the timing is right. Creative Foam is expected to tear down the theater but there’s no timeline as to when the building would be demolished. There have been various attempts over the years to utilize the old cinema property but none came to fruition. (JM)
