10/21/12 - The Brighton Area Fire Authority will host its annual fire prevention open house this weekend at Station 31 on Grand River. The event is open to adults and children of all ages, and this yearâs theme is âHave Two Ways Outâ in reference to fire escape preparation recommendations. In addition to getting the chance to meet local firefighters, Sparky the Fire Dog, and Freddy the Fire Truck, visitors will be able to see demonstrations of safety equipment like fire extinguishers, the Jaws of Life, and residential sprinklers with a live fire display. Some contests will give kids the opportunity to win fire truck rises. Hot dogs, sandwiches, cookies, and a bounce house will also be available.
