3/15/13 - County attorneys are reviewing plans for a new dog park to open up in the county governmentâs East Complex. The idea was first brought forward by citizens, including a group called The Friends of the Howell Dog Park. It would be a closed-in area for people to bring and release their dogs for exercise while keeping them off the streets and other areas where they could get hurt or cause damage. Organizers hope the area, which is being called the Howl and Bark Dog Park, will be up and running by mid-summer. The plan is currently being reviewed by members of the county legal team, who will examine how the park will be managed and maintained. Domas says the county probably does not want to handle day-to-day operations itself, and would turn the duties of cleaning and maintaining the park to the Friends of the Howell Dog Park. (TD)
