11/14/13 - Farmers in Livingston County and 19 other counties that had damage from severe hail storms earlier this year are eligible for emergency loans. U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow announced the support Wednesday involving loans from the Farm Service Agency. The hail storms took place between June 10 and Aug. 2. Farmers in the affected counties will have about eight months to apply for emergency loans. Huron, Jackson, Saginaw and Washtenaw counties were all designated as primary disaster counties. Livingston was one of 16 contiguous disaster counties that are eligible for the same aid. The Farm Service Agency will consider each loan application on its own merits, taking into account the extent of losses, security available and repayment ability.
