11/15/13 - A man police believe to be responsible for stealing charity collection jars for sick and injured children has been bound over to circuit court for trial. 39-year-old Chad Lendon Stewart of Manitou Beach, Michigan is scheduled to be arraigned in Oakland County Circuit Court on Wednesday on a count of Larceny in a Building, a four year felony. Milford Police say he has connections to Livingston and Oakland Counties and a history of larceny. On November 1st, a store clerk at the Speedway gas station on South Milford Road reported the theft of a collection jar for the Children’s Miracle Network, which raises money for children’s hospitals and medical research. Milford Police say Stewart may be responsible for other donation jar thefts in the Livingston and Wayne County areas, and that the incident happened just five days after a Children’s Miracle network jar was stolen from a different Speedway in Livingston County. Stewart is being held on a $50,000 bond. (TD)
