11/20/13 - Authorities have identified the man suspected of killing his girlfriend at their Oceola Township home and later intentionally crashing his vehicle head-on into a semi-truck in Monroe County. The body of 51-year-old Gail Dimitroff was found Monday afternoon in her Hill Top Lane residence. She's believed to have died of blunt force trauma. Investigators with the Livingston County Sheriff's Department then learned her live-in boyfriend had been involved in a fatal crash in Monroe County. Livingston County Undersheriff Mike Murphy says preliminary investigation leads them to believe that 44-year-old Mark William Herrick intentionally crashed into a semi, killing himself, but he tells WHMI there's a lot of work needed to bring the case to a close. A check of local court records by WHMI revealed that Herrick had a prior assault and battery conviction and was sentenced in 2007 to probation and community service but also ordered to undergo anger management and complete an alcohol treatment program.
