1/7/14 - Before the burnouts and sky-wheelies commence, a former Howell School Board member and her son will perform for a Detroit monster truck rally. Wendy Day and her son, Howell senior David Day, will sing the national anthem before the Monster Jam truck rally on Saturday night. Although Day is a former school board member and a current candidate to the state house, she and David were chosen to sing as a tribute to the nation’s veterans and their families. Wendy’s husband Kevin is on his second deployment as a member of the Michigan National Guard, and Day works with local veterans’ groups. The anthem will be performed at the opening of Monster Jam at about 6:45 Saturday night at Ford Field. (TD)
