1/7/14 - The Humane Society of Livingston County is reminding all pet owners to keep track of their four-legged friends, as the extreme cold temperatures and wind chills can prove deadly for pets. Shelter Manager Sarah Mews tells WHMI itâs best to be proactive and pets should not be left outside in this extreme weather. If anyone does observe a cruelty situation, Mews advises residents to call 911 or Livingston County Animal Control, which has officers who can be dispatched out. A link to more cold weather safety tips through the national Humane Society is below, which has no affiliation with the local shelter. (JM)
