1/22/14 - A couple with local roots and a love of craft beer is looking to open a new microbrewery in Genoa Township. Co-founders and co-brewers Mike and Dayna Tran are looking to launch Eternity Brewing Company this year. Dayna hails from Howell and Mike from Holland. Their company website states that the couple spent last summer scouring Livingston County for a location, and as of last fall had a signed lease in place for 4060 East Grand River. That allowed them to apply for a microbrewery and small wine maker license and permit. However, in order to apply for a new license through the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, a recommendation must be obtained from the local legislative body. The Genoa Township Board met Tuesday night and approved a resolution of recommendation. Supervisor Gary McCririe tells WHMI it's exciting and something new to the township. The couple has plans to transform the site into a micro-brewery with multiple taps, and work is expected to commence this year. (JM)
