1/22/14 - Motorists are being advised to take it slow and use caution following numerous accidents reported on roads and freeways across Livingston County. Ramps, freeways, and bridge overpasses remain snow covered and icy, with multiple rollover accidents reported. Significant traffic delays were continuing on northbound US-23, south of Center Road due to crashes throughout the day. One in the Brighton area this afternoon required emergency crews to extricate the driver. Brighton Area Fire Authority Chief Mike OâBrian tells WHMI they responded to the single-vehicle crash on Challis Road near the railroad tracks. He says the sole occupant was not injured too badly, but because of the position of the car, had to be extricated by firefighters and Challis Road was closed for roughly half an hour as a result. OâBrian strongly encourages drivers to slow down and give salt trucks room to work. (JM)
