3/26/14 - Hartland Township has formally launched its new, updated website with a focus on residents and information. Manager James Wickman says an update was done a few years ago that served the township well but as time has gone by, thereâs been a greater demand for information and more residents and businesses are using the Internet to engage with the municipality. Wickman tells WHMI it's basically a virtual township hall and residents should find a greater source and value of information. He says the township has launched several initiatives over the last year to ensure residents have easy access to information and are able to communicate with officials. He says the revamped website places more emphasis on those things, such as township board meetings that are streamed live and also archived along with meeting agendas and packets. The new website is also better tied into social media including the Hartland Township Facebook page and MindMixer, a community feedback site and forum for dialogue between stakeholders. Wickman says the site is further designed to be user and mobile-friendly and will be continually updated to ensure that visitors have easy access to the most up-to-date information available but also share their thoughts and opinions on ongoing initiatives.
