5/30/14 - A deal between the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority and a local company will provide transportation for area residents of all ages. A 16 passenger shuttle bus was delivered to the parks and rec authority Thursday after an agreement was reached between authority Director Paul Rogers and Mike Hall, the President and CEO of Cobb Hall Insurance. After several rejected attempts at securing a transportation grant for the bus, Rogers reached out to Hall for sponsorship. The two came to an agreement where the shuttle bus would be purchased by Cobb Hall in exchange for a long term advertising package that will include various parks and rec events, print publications and digital media platforms. The Howell Teen Center will use the money they have previously raised for a bus towards wrapping the new bus in the logos for both the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority and Cobb Hall Insurance. Officials say the new shuttle will provide the Howell Teen Center, Day Camp, Preschool and Senior Center with more opportunities to travel and go on field trips that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford due to the high cost of bus rentals.
