5/31/14 - The Spencer J Hardy Livingston County Airport is planning an open house to coincide with Howellâs biggest festival. The 30th annual Michigan Challenge Balloonfest will take place from June 27th through the 29th, and the airport is planning to hold its open house that Saturday, June 28th from 10am to 2pm. Airport Manager Mark Johnson says the open house is open to anyone interested in aviation or curious about what the airport has to offer. It will include the Yankee Air Museum with its World War II-era Douglass C-47 transport and other warplanes, representatives from aircraft manufacturers displaying their products, and various flight schools and universities talking about their programs. The Spencer J Hardy Airport is located west of Howell at the intersection of M-59 and Grand River near the I-96 interchange. (TD)
