7/3/14 - A Louisiana man was injured while riding his motorcycle on US-23 near M-36 Thursday afternoon. The Green Oak Township police were called out to the scene at about 2:35pm. Sergeant Steve Kramer says traffic in that area had stopped, but the man could not stop his Harley-Davidson in time. He went between some cars on the roadway before rear-ending another vehicle. A total of four vehicles were involved in the crash, with another related incident handled by the Michigan State Police. Kramer says the man was taken by EMS to the University of Michigan for treatment, and his status is unknown. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol as a factor in the crash, but Kramer says the man was not wearing a helmet. It is not clear at this time why the man could not stop in time. US-23 was reopened to traffic within 45 minutes of the crash. The Green Oak Fire Department and Livingston County Sheriff also assisted at the scene. (TD)
