7/17/14 - The memory of a fallen police officer from Livingston County will ride on thanks to a special project. Patrick O'Rourke of Tyrone Township was killed in the line of duty September 9th, 2012. His parents Arlene and Dan OâRourke of Hartland Township were able to obtain their late sonâs actual patrol vehicle, which is currently being outfitted in his memory by Priority One Emergency. It will serve as a tribute car to be primarily used in car shows and fundraisers. Dan OâRourke tells WHMI itâs something you have to see to believe as its being all decked out and lit up. The OâRourkeâs will be picking up the car Friday and although itâs not finished, one unique feature is a tribute light that shines down on the ground when the driver's side door is opened that contains OâRourkeâs badge information and reads "We now have your watch." Although it will be two years in September since their son passed, OâRourke says the outpouring of support from the West Bloomfield Police Department and the community has never slowed for their family or Patrickâs wife Amy and their four children. A link to the Priority One Facebook page is posted below, where photos and details about the special project can be found. (JM)
