9/26/14 - Livingston County Animal Control is investigating a case wherein half a dozen kittens appear to have been intentionally stomped to death. Animal Control Director Debbie Oberle says the incident was reported through a 911 call on Saturday. It occurred in a home off of US-23 south of M-59. The kittens were three to four weeks of age, and Oberle says they appear to have been intentionally stomped with a large shoe or boot. There was a grown cat in the same house that appeared to be their mother, but it was unharmed. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and could result in animal cruelty charges being filed against the perpetrator. Oberle says anyone with an unwanted litter of kittens can contact Animal Control, the Humane Society, or other shelters to get rid of the animals. (TD)
