9/29/14 - The Howell High School Parent Teacher Mentor Organization, or PTMO, will host a special screening of the film "The Bully Chronicles" tonight. In addition to showing the movie, tonightâs gathering will also feature an appearance by Amy Weber, the film's director. Members of the Howell High Schoolâs administration and the PTMO have already attended a screening of the film and called it "moving, thought provoking and very emotional." According the the film's website "The Bully Chronicles is a compelling docudrama that addresses one of the most prevalent issues in society: Bullying. The story follows Avery Keller, a popular high school sophomore, whose systematic physical, emotional and cyber bullying of her former best friend, Jessica Burns, results in that girlâs suicide attempt. Weber, who hails from Royal Oak, explores Avery's life to uncover the reason why a seemingly 'perfect' young woman would engage in bullying. The movie will be shown in the Howell High School auditorium starting at 7pm. The movie is PG-13 so the PTMO is asking that parents come with their kids, and that they RSVP to the PTMO Facebook Page. Weber is expected to introduce the film and give some background on its creation. (JK)
