9/29/14 - A tailgate party next month will give area residents the opportunity to show their true colors whether it be Wolverine Maize and Blue or Spartan Green while also raising funds for low income residents in need of dental care. The VINA Dental Clinic in Brighton provides quality, affordable dental care to Livingston County residents with limited finances who have little or no access to dental care. But it takes money to make that happen and the VINA Tailgate Party on October 23rd at Cleary Universityâs Johnson Center is one of the organizationâs biggest fundraisers. Games, prizes, and a silent auction are featured during the event, which is divided up into quarters to capitalize on the age old rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State. But in the end, VINAâs Christine Love says itâs about provided a much needed service to those who would otherwise have no way to afford it. Currently Spartan fans lead the series 3-2, but Love, who is a diehard Wolverine fan, hopes they can event it out this year. Either way, though, she says the patients are the real winners. Tickets to the VINA tailgate party are $35 but include ten raffle tickets. Love says anyone who canât attend is encouraged to make an online donation for the team of their choice, which are totally tax-deductible. (JK)
