3/5/13 - The new executive director of Livingston County Community Mental Health was formally introduced to the County Board of Commissioners last night. In December, Connie Conklin replaced longtime director Mack Miller as the head of the agency that oversees the services offered to people with developmental and mental health issues in the county. She says Miller was a mentor of hers, and although she worked in other parts of the state for years she felt it was time to return to her home county of Livingston. She tells WHMI that since taking over the department she has identified a number of priorities, including monitoring state-level changes to Medicaid, collaborating with other community agencies, and thinking broadly about how to support the people CMH serves in all areas of their lives. Miller retired as executive director of CMH after more than 25 years in the position. (TD)
