3/5/13 - An event at the Brighton Library will underline the importance of good parenting as part of March as Parenting Awareness Month. Library Media Relations Coordinator Margaret Vergith tells WHMI the event on Saturday will include a family concert put on by Beverly Meyer, also known as the Music Lady, several lectures on topics related to childrearing, and free books for children aged 1-5. Information will be offered throughout the day for parents and caregivers related to the care and education of a child. Organizations such as Great Start Livingston, the Pregnancy Help Clinic, Boxing Autism of Livingston County, and the Michigan Association for Gifted Children will be present to offer information and services. The event will run from 10am to 1pm on Saturday. A second library event will provide a lecture entitled Understanding Attention Deficit Disorder on Monday as part of Parenting Awareness Month. (TD)
