10/22/12 - A large manufacturing company plans to move its headquarters to Lyon Township if pending tax abatements are approved. The Henrob Corporation engineers and manufactures self-piercing rivets used in construction. The South Lyon Herald reports that the company is planning to move its North American headquarters from Livonia to land on Grand River in Lyon Township. The $68.5 million project will be one of the largest investments in the township in the past 10 years, second only to those made by the auto industry. It will redevelop several inactive manufacturing facilities in the township and is expected to create 154 new local jobs. According to Henrob, the opening of the new half-million square-foot facility is due to rapid growth within the company. (TD)
