12/13/13 - Itâs been a long journey since a fire destroyed a Pinckney medical clinic that serves the uninsured, but on Saturday theyâll celebrate their new location. The Faith Medical Clinic will officially celebrate their new location at 103 E. Main Street with a public reception at 3pm. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with University of Michigan officials will follow at 4pm. The clinic, founded by Mitch and Laura Goldman, actually reopened in early November after receiving a $30,000 grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and another $30,000 in additional community donations. Following the 2012 fire in their original location inside the Putnam Township Annex, the clinic temporarily rented the Pinckney Community Libraryâs former location on Mower Road before finally moving into their Main Street facility where they have an open clinic on Thursdays from 5:30-7:30pm. On Saturdays, U-M students provide service from 9am to 1pm by appointment. (JK)
