12/13/13 - A local beverage manufacturer will continue to get sewer service from Green Oak Township, but it has to pay its sewer bills before April. The lawsuit filed by the township against Liquid Manufacturing alleges fire, safety, and sewer ordinance violations over the course of years. One of the townshipâs primary complaints is the companyâs wastewater discharge, which they insist makes up the majority of the effluent into the sewer system and cannot be adequately treated due to high concentrations of sodium. On September 19th, the township made a motion in Livingston County Circuit Court seeking an order to terminate sanitary sewer service to Liquid Manufacturing for non-payment of bills. The court denied that motion on Thursday, but it also issued an order giving Liquid Manufacturing until March 26th to make its unpaid sewer bills from this summer current. Township Supervisor Mark St. Charles says Liquid Manufacturing is behind on its sewer bills for the first half of 2013 to the tune of about $70,000. (TD)
